The Montblanc Meisterstuck 167P LeGrand Mechanical Pencil carries the familiar black precious-resin language of the Meisterstuck family into a substantial 0.9 mm writing instrument. Its larger LeGrand proportions, platinum-tone trim, and white Montblanc emblem give it the same restrained visual identity as the brand's fountain pens and ballpoints while serving a distinctly different writing purpose.
Craftsmanship & Design
The 167P uses a black body with polished platinum-tone appointments and a traditional Montblanc clip. Compared with the smaller Classique-format pencil, the LeGrand body has greater visual and physical presence, making the pencil feel more substantial in the hand while preserving the clean proportions associated with Meisterstuck.
Writing Experience
A twist-advance mechanism feeds 0.9 mm lead, a size that produces a more confident, durable line than the finer leads commonly used in modern mechanical pencils. That makes the 167P well suited to writing, annotation, and sketching where a broader graphite line is preferred.
Brand Heritage
The appeal of the 167P lies in how closely it integrates with the broader Meisterstuck family. For collectors who use multiple writing modes, the pencil offers the same design vocabulary as a LeGrand fountain pen or ballpoint without feeling like an accessory added after the fact.
