The Montegrappa Extra 1930 Turtle Brown Fountain Pen draws on the forms and materials that defined some of Montegrappa's most admired twentieth-century writing instruments. Rich Turtle Brown celluloid combines amber, brown, and dark marbled tones with sterling silver detailing, creating a pen whose appearance changes continuously as the material turns in the light.

Craftsmanship & Design

Celluloid gives the Extra 1930 a depth that conventional injection-molded resin cannot easily reproduce. The layered pattern appears to sit within the material rather than on its surface, while sterling silver trim and Montegrappa's characteristic Greek-key-inspired detailing reinforce the vintage Italian character. The substantial body is built as a flagship writing instrument rather than a lightweight everyday pen.

Writing Experience

A handmade 18k gold Medium nib is paired with an ebonite feed and Montegrappa's piston-filling mechanism. The combination provides a generous, controlled ink supply and keeps the pen self-contained for bottled ink. The Medium nib offers enough width to display shading while remaining practical for regular correspondence.
