This is a vibrant, bright, blue-leaning purple that is really fun to write with and see on the page. I paired it with my violet Lamy Safari. They match very well. There isn't much shading, which is fine, even though I like shading a lot when inks have that. There's no water resistance to this ink at all, which is different from another Monteverde ink I have, but I knew that going into this purchase. The flow of this ink is very wet, but not in a bad way. It's not like some Noodler's inks that gush everywhere. This ink is wet but controlled. It's going to be a regular in my rotation.
When I first got this ink I loaded it into my fountain pen. It writes really smooth and has minimal bleeding when used with the fountain pen. On my dip pen it does bleed through my journal paper a bit more. (It's about a 32 lb paper.) But what I really like about it is the lid is fairly wide so it's easy to fill my fountain pen and my dip pen without hitting the sides of the jar. Since I'm new to the inks, when I got this I also ordered a bunch of samples I noticed some of them have a strong odor. This one does not. I would definitely order this one again.
