Nahvalur Ikkaku Urushi Fountain Pen – Ye Yu (夜羽)
The Nahvalur Ikkaku Ye Yu (夜羽), meaning “Nightly Feathers,” marks the debut of Nahvalur’s luxury IKKAKU line—where traditional Japanese artistry meets modern writing excellence. Inspired by the grace of nightingales in moonlight, this exquisite fountain pen features a deep black urushi lacquer body, delicately accented with hand-applied raden (abalone shell) inlays that shimmer like feathers in the dark.
Crafted on the well-loved Nautilus silhouette, its rounded, minimalist profile allows the lacquer work to take center stage. Each piece requires layers of urushi to be applied and cured by hand, resulting in a rich, organic depth and luminous finish that evolves beautifully over time.
Gold-plated trim and clip provide an elegant contrast to the dark body, while a 14k gold #6 nib—available in Fine or Medium—delivers a smooth, responsive writing experience. The pen fills via cartridge or converter (both included), but can also be used as an eyedropper for increased ink capacity with a touch of silicone grease.
