Parker 5th Technology
Introduced in 2011, Parker 5th Technology was developed around a replaceable writing unit with a flexible tip. As the pen is used, the tip gradually adapts to the writer's angle and pressure, producing a line that becomes more personalized over time. A protective hood extends over the point when the pen is capped, helping prevent the exposed tip from drying.
The system was intended to combine the expressive appearance of liquid ink with the convenience and controlled handling of a refill. It occupies a distinct place in Parker history as a proprietary writing technology rather than a variation on an existing mechanism.
Design and Writing Experience
The Ingenuity was created as the principal showcase for Parker 5th Technology. The Large body provides a substantial grip and balanced weight, while the black lacquer and chrome-plated appointments give the pen a restrained, contemporary character.
