The Sonnet Collection
Introduced in 1994, the Sonnet was designed by Geoff Hollington as Parker's modern classic. Its proportions were carefully developed to feel familiar without reproducing an earlier model, allowing the collection to support everything from simple lacquer finishes to engraved metal and precious-metal editions.
Black Lacquer GT became a central Sonnet finish because it places the focus on the silhouette and trim. The lacquer develops greater visual depth than molded resin, while the gold-plated appointments reinforce Parker's traditional black-and-gold identity.
Writing Experience
This example is fitted with an 18k gold Medium nib. Parker Sonnet nibs are designed for controlled everyday writing, and the Medium width provides enough ink flow to show shading while remaining practical for correspondence, notes, and journaling.
The cartridge-converter filling system accepts Parker cartridges or bottled fountain pen ink through a compatible converter. The cap closes securely, and the gently tapered section supports a natural writing grip.
