I wanted to try a stub nib, but I did not want to spend a lot of money because I did not know if I would like it. So, I bought the 1.1m nib, thinking that it would be a good introduction to stub nibs. I liked that a converter was included. Usually, that is an extra expense when buying an inexpensive pen.
The pen is pretty. I bought the lime green one. It seems to be very well- made and comes in a nice box. I think it would make a nice gift. It is a metal pen, but it is not too heavy in my hand. I like the line variation it produces. It definitely improves the look of my handwriting, makes it more interesting. However, I am still not sure that a stub nib is for me. I like a smooth, soft experience which does not require as much pressure while writing. I am still looking for my Goldilocks pen.
This is my first nice fountain pen and I'm quite pleased with it! It writes smoothly and lays down a line of perfect thickness - not so thick that it hampers my small handwriting, but not so thin that it's scratchy. It has a pleasant weightiness to it and I love how cold it feels. I've heard mixed reviews about the converter not holding enough ink, but it holds enough for my purposes. I have been writing with it consistently for about week and I haven't had to refill it yet. I love it!
Even prettier in person .
Writes like a dream , I got green and filled it with green ink !!
I've never owned a Pilot fountain pen before. When I ordered it, I did so strictly because it was a good price for a well known pen brand. It came in a very nice case, and with the converter and one disposable ink cartridge. When I took it out of the box, it felt comfortable in my hand. It was a very sturdy metal with a very balanced weight. I put pressure on my wrists with all that I do with my hands, but I felt no discomfort when it came to writing. I popped in the cartridge and it wrote immediately, with no skips, and the amount of ink dispensed with perfect-- it doesn't bleed, and no matter how long I've set it down, it's managed to write on any weight of paper with ease.
I'm thinking about buying this pen in multiple colors! The top snaps over the nib with a satisfactory and secure click. The nib itself takes well to both a light touch and a heavy one-- the amount of ink seems indifferent with my handwriting no matter if I'm writing in print or cursive. There isn't much flex to it, but it gives me enough feedback when I write that it makes writing a pleasure.
The only thing I worry about is the color chipping over time... but even that won't be a problem as the price point was well in my novice range. 10 out of 10-- this is definitely a good one to have in the arsenal. I'm currently shopping for the right color ink and notebook to match it with. Thanks Truphae!! I've enjoyed my purchases thus far!
I got this pen as a gift for a friend’s birthday and she absolutely loved it! She’s always wanted a fountain pen and this was a perfect start for her collection. Great price and awesome color and design. Thanks Truphae!
