Sailor Bungubox Original Mini Fountain Pen - Arles Sunflower brings the warmth of Van Gogh's sunflower imagery into the compact Pro Gear Slim Mini format. Created by Bungubox on a Sailor base, the pen uses a bright yellow body, gold ion-plated trim, and a sunflower crown with Wajima raden maki-e lacquer work to create a small pen with unusually rich visual detail.
The design draws from Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers, a group of paintings associated with his time in Arles in southern France. Sunflowers became one of Van Gogh's most recognizable subjects because they allowed him to explore yellow in multiple emotional and tonal registers, from warmth and vitality to fading maturity. Bungubox translates that theme into a cheerful yellow writing instrument with a cap-ring inscription referencing "Zonnebloemen van Arles", or "Sunflowers of Arles" in Dutch.
The nib engraving of Van Gogh's self-portrait and the sunflower crown link the pen directly to the artist rather than treating the color as a generic floral reference. The Wajima raden maki-e detail adds a Japanese decorative craft element, creating a cross-cultural homage: a Japanese-made Sailor mini interpreted through the lens of a Dutch painter's French-period subject matter.
The 14k Gold Zoom nib is one of Sailor's most characterful nibs, producing a broader line at a lower writing angle and a finer line as the pen is held more upright. That expressive range pairs naturally with a compact pen intended to feel playful, collectible, and distinct from an ordinary daily writer. The proprietary Sailor cartridge converter system uses compatible Sailor cartridges or the included mini converter.

Free Shipping: We offer free shipping for all U.S. orders over $20, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Standard Shipping Fee: For U.S. orders below $20, a flat shipping fee of $5.99 will be applied.
International Orders:
Shipping Rates: International shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the package and the destination country.
Exclusions: Currently, we do not offer shipping to Russia and South Africa.
