The Sailor Professional Gear Slim Purple Cosmos Fountain Pen surrounds Sailor's compact flat-top design with a deep, space-inspired purple finish. Subtle reflective character in the resin gives the body more dimension than a conventional solid color, while cool-toned trim keeps the overall palette crisp and modern.

Craftsmanship & Design

Purple Cosmos uses the familiar Professional Gear Slim architecture: flat cap and barrel ends, Sailor's anchor medallion at the crown, a threaded cap, and lightweight PMMA construction. The dark violet body changes character under different lighting, moving from subdued purple to brighter cosmic tones as reflections pass across the polished surface.

Writing Experience

The original 14k Broad nib on this example has been custom ground to a stub. That modification changes the writing character substantially, creating broader downstrokes and narrower cross-strokes for natural line variation. It remains a Sailor gold nib at its core, retaining the controlled tactile feedback for which the brand is known while offering a more expressive shape on the page.

The custom stub is the defining enthusiast feature of this particular Purple Cosmos.
