The Sailor Professional Gear Slim Manyo Fountain Pen - Gourd is part of the third Manyo pen series, using the colors of Manyo Sumomo and Uri inks to create a distinctive two-color botanical palette. The combination gives the compact Professional Gear Slim a more playful appearance while remaining consistent with Sailor's familiar resin construction and gold-nib writing experience.

Craftsmanship & Design

The Professional Gear Slim body is defined by Sailor's flat finials, screw cap, and compact proportions. Gold-tone trim provides a consistent framework around the contrasting resin colors, while a rainbow-foil decorative cap-top treatment gives this Manyo release an additional visual detail that becomes most apparent under direct light.

Writing Experience

This example is fitted with a 14k gold Medium-Fine nib. The size is broad enough to show more ink character than a Fine while still remaining practical for regular notes and correspondence. Filling is handled through Sailor proprietary cartridges or a compatible converter.

Manyo Design Language

Rather than treating the pen and ink as separate objects, the Manyo series uses the color relationships of Sailor's inks as the basis for the pen itself. Gourd brings together the tones associated with Sumomo and Uri, creating a physical interpretation of the collection's botanical color vocabulary.
