The Sailor Special Nib Naginata Fude de Mannen Fountain Pen is built around one of Sailor's most visually unusual and expressive 21k gold nibs. The black resin body and traditional gold trim are intentionally conservative; the extraordinary element appears at the tip, where the nib bends upward to create a writing geometry inspired by the changing stroke width of a brush.
Fude de Mannen nibs are designed so that writing angle becomes an active part of the line. A more upright position contacts a smaller portion of the tipping and produces a finer stroke, while lowering the pen toward the page dramatically increases the contact area for broad lettering, sketching, and character work. Sailor's Naginata version elevates that concept with a premium 21k gold nib and Special Nib construction.
The result is a nib that invites experimentation. It can move from relatively controlled everyday marks to broad expressive strokes without changing pens, making it particularly useful for calligraphic writing, drawing, signatures, and users who naturally vary their writing angle. Filling is by Sailor cartridge or converter.
Within Sailor collecting, the Special Nib series is valued less for limited colors than for specialist writing behavior. The Naginata Fude de Mannen is especially distinctive because its shape is obvious even before it touches paper, and its performance is fundamentally different from a standard Fine, Medium, or Broad point.

Drop Shipping: In the event of errors in our on-hand inventory or to expedite delivery, some items may be drop shipped directly from our US distributors. This means that these items will be shipped directly from the distributor's warehouse to your designated shipping address.
U.S. Orders:
Free Shipping: We offer free shipping for all U.S. orders over $20, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Standard Shipping Fee: For U.S. orders below $20, a flat shipping fee of $5.99 will be applied.
International Orders:
Shipping Rates: International shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the package and the destination country.
Exclusions: Currently, we do not offer shipping to Russia and South Africa.
