The design is bold without abandoning the maison's formal precision: red lacquer, brushed gold filigree, and angular decorative structure combine to create a fountain pen that feels closer to contemporary object design than a conventional executive pen.

The Story Behind the Design

Richard Orlinski is known for faceted sculptures that translate animal power and pop-cultural energy into sharply geometric forms. In this Line D Eternity collaboration, ST Dupont adapts that language through the Kong motif, placing a sculptural metal filigree over a red guilloche lacquer ground. The contrast between the vivid lacquer and the gold framework gives the pen a strong sense of movement, echoing Orlinski's preference for angular tension and expressive surface.

Craftsmanship & Design

The red finish is built around diagonal guilloche beneath lacquer, creating depth beneath the surface rather than a flat color treatment. Gold finishes, an articulated sword clip, and a guilloche-engraved grip section reinforce the Line D Eternity identity, while the lacquered D emblem on the cap adds a final graphic detail.
