The LAMY Safari is a workhorse pen, known throughout the fountain pen community for its ruggedness, reliability, and no-nonsense functionality. The triangular grip makes it great for those starting out who have no idea how to hold a fountain pen, but it's used and loved by fountain pen lovers of all levels of experience.

This multi-colored Safari comes with an interchangeable silver steel nib, which can be easily swapped out for another size. This fountain pen comes with a blue LAMY ink cartridge so you can get started writing right away. It also accepts a LAMY Z28 converter to use bottled ink (sold separately). The triangular grip is helpful for proper hand/grip position while writing.

Note: To ensure quality performance, LAMY tests their pens as a final step in manufacturing. If you happen to see any residual blue ink, rest assured that this is normal.

My FIRST LAMY!!!

Never heard of LAMY fountian pens!! Mom was going to concert there, and I went shopping! I chanced upon this pen store, and WOW! What a store!! WISH Chris would open a store here in Atlanta!! PLEASE!!!
The packaging is nothing I’ve seen for ANY LAMY Safari pen! A blue cardboard box with LAMY all over the box, and a creme felt pen holder inside, and a white cardboard slipcase cover! VERY NICE packaging!! Now that I’m collecting Ltd. Edt. Safaris, I think I’m up to 10 of them?? But this being my first LAMY, and the packaging are special to me! THANK YOU Chris for starting this addiction!!! AWESOME STORE!!! Please come to Atlanta!! For such a big city, ZERO pen stores, except Mont Blanc boutique, where they are so snooty, you’d think they were selling Rolls Royce’s!! Not pleasant. That’s all we have here. Pen writes like a dream, for having a steel nib!! I prefer the med. nibs. Love them! LOVE TRUPHAE!!!

Item as ordered, Fast shipping A++++++ seller

I ordered a Lamy Safari US Independence special edition fountain pen, and it was sold at a reasonable price and I received it quickly. The handwritten thank you note is a very nice touch for pen specialists-- I even considered reaching out to the seller to ask what pen and ink were used to write "Thank You". I would buy from again.

Great colors

I purchased this because I liked the Lamy I received in my subscription box and wanted this color scheme. It amazes me how things can be the same yet still different. Same pens and same nibs but the nib in this one writes thicker. It's a fun pen and I like the triangular grip as it fits the hand well and reduces finger strain. The Lamy ink works well but I look forward to trying the converter I purchased.

Touch and go.

I bought two fountian pens from this really cool store!! That was great! I didn’t try either before driving home to Atlanta. The Lamy had a nice box, but no instructions. The Pilot fountian pen did. So I knew to remove the cardboard circle that prevents the blue ink cartridge to not accidentally be punctured. I then screwed the Lamy pen together to puncture the ink cartridge, as well as the Pilot pen, same process. I left both pens leaning nib-downward to let gravity bring the ink to the nib, for about 30 minutes. When I uncapped the Lamy, the cap was full of ink! The ink cartridge is 3/4’s empty. NEVER seen a fountian pen do this!! I tried calling the store, left two VM’s as I had no idea what was wrong! He didn’t call me but texted me wanting photos showing if the cartridge was installed wrong, it wasn’t. Dumped out the ink in the cap, cleaned everything up, and installed a second Lamy ink cartridge. The pen magically didn’t do what it did before. I’m relieved, the Pilot fountian pen ZERO issues!!
Be very careful of buying Lamy Safari pens on Amazon!! A Chinese company is making counterfeit Lamy Safari pens. Which is true, but why counterfeit a cheap plastic fountian pen??? I don’t get that at all. Counterfeiting Mount Blanc’s? Yeah, I TOTALLY get that! NEVER buy a MB on Amazon or FleaBay.
